COMMITTEE

THE MANAGEMENT OF THE CENTRE

Each year, at the Annual General Meeting, a small group of parents are elected to manage the affairs of the kindergarten. Under the constitution the Management Committee must include a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Any other number of Committee Members may also be appointed at the AGM.


The responsibilities of the volunteer committee include ensuring:



  • Appropriate staff are employed at all times.
  • Maintenance of building, grounds and equipment.
  • Control over finances of the organisation.
  • Optimum benefit to the children attending the centre.
  • Attendance at committee/general meetings.

MEMBERSHIP/VOTING RIGHTS



Any family accessing the centre is able to pay $5 (GST inclusive) annual membership fee which entitles parents to vote at meetings of the Association.


ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING



The AGM is held in February each year. Annual President’s, Director’s and Treasurer’s reports are presented and a new committee is elected.



GENERAL MEETINGS



Each term a meeting is held to discuss business and to make decisions to ensure the smooth running of Little Miracles Community Kindergarten. All parents are invited to attend these meetings. Parent participation is important. Meetings can not be conducted without a corium of parents.




COMMITTEE POSITIONS

The following positions need to be filled each year. Being part of the committee is a rewarding experience. Please consider what you may have to offer to these positions as the centre relies on your active involvement.


President

Provides leadership to the committee and association, acts as a coordinator and motivator, liaise with the director and C&K, and chairs the meetings.


Vice President

Supports the president and substitutes for the president during absences.


Secretary

Records the minutes of all meetings handles all correspondence, maintain files and staff and personnel records.


Treasurer

Prepares all accounting records, budgets and financial reports and statements supervises the finances and provides advice to the committee.

The responsibilities of these positions are lessened due to having an employed administration staff member.
